A Ministry of Heart & Soul
Hanan is out of the Intermediate ICU and is now in the ward but she is still not feeling herself. The doctors are still monitoring her closely with regular blood tests. AbbyRose and I were able to bring a little cheer into the mix with a wind up toy TV ..... that is until her nurse came to do another blood test.
Today Hanan was released from the ICU into the Intermediate ICU, one step away from the ward. She has made great strides and seems to be ready to play again. So I ran down to the mini-mall attached to the hospital and bought a balloon, an instant hit with Hanan and her mother. It was a game of let it go and watch it fall up! A new experience for Hanan.
Hanan is making good progress in her recovery. Yesterday she was extubated and her oxygen saturation levels in her blood were 100% of normal. Her mother was full of encouragement and so were we at the obvious healing in progress.
Hanan is slowly recovering and may be extubated tomorrow if she continues to improve. As I stood by the bedside I counted a combination of ten medication lines and drip lines being used simultaneously. It makes one realize just how complex our bodies really are.
It reminded me of a plaque that I saw hanging on the wall in a doctor's office long ago that went like this:
I treated her but
God cured her!
